DISCOVER TASMANIA MEDIA RELEASE Reply to Hon. Hidding, Leader of the Liberals (copied below) which is the subject of a Contempt of Court complaint to the Director of Public Prosecutions in this matter.

Last time he made and authorised defamatory comments against Discover Tasmania he got sued (current Tasmanian Supreme Court defamation action 435 of 2003). In fact his lawyers got the alleged particulars of malice the other day, no doubt that has put the Honourable in a bad mood which prompted the improper outburst of ranting behind the safety of the sandstone walls of Parliament. See the Liberals Media Release Below. The issues raised by the Liberals in this release go to the core of the forestry debate in Tasmania. That is, the Tasmanian Government brings shame and ridicule upon Tasmania by organising the vandalism in the Tasmanian Forests. If the Tasmanian forestry practices have nothing to be ashamed of then why all this condemnation of FREE SPEECH which exposes the practices? Discover Tasmania websites, in various ways reports and illustrates the problem so as to inform people what is hidden behind the thin rows of trees they don't cut down in order to conceal the disgrace. The websites operate in a legitimate way from domains that are relevant to the subject material published and that were available for legitimate registration. There are many more similar domains out there available for registration right now. Discover Tasmania operates within the law just as Forestry Tasmania and Gunns Ltd. purport to do. The real misrepresentation and deceit is, that the Tasmanian Government trades Tasmania as the Clean Green Natural State. What could be further from the truth, the visitors are being tricked into believing this propaganda before getting here, not to mention the Tasmanian community that is continually conned by spin and media control. Authenticism is priceless, but the Tasmanian Government is selling it off for woodchips. Are the Tasmanian Liberal & Labour politicians from another planet? or are they just plain dumb or is there something else going on that we would all like to hear about? Shoot the messenger, that's all they can come up with. Well, watch this space, Discover Tasmania is a long term project and freedom of speech will continue and increase. Pity the dunderheads cannot do something really positive for Tasmania and persuade Tourism Tasmania to do the same thing for Tourism in Tasmania, no no, its far better to encourage more of running along to the WIPO with $3,000 of taxpayers money in their grubby little hands to close http://www.Discover-Tasmania.com.au down, isn't it. Jeez, coming to Tasmania has certainly been an experience for me, for all the wrong reasons, but hey... every time the Honourable's get uppity, I get rejuvenated.
